World Drumming for Children
Learning world music in groups enhances creativity, musicality, social skills and diversity awareness. Children will explore rhythms from South America, The Caribbeans, Africa, India and other parts of the world while having fun!
Students will learn to play a variety of percussion instruments as they study the different parts of a particular rhythm. Together they will create songs and improvise parts. This class meets once per week. Instructor: Bam Bam Rodriguez
Monday 4pm-5pm; Wednesday 4pm-5pm, 5pm-6pm
Cost: $350/10 classes. Instruments will be provided
World Music Ensemble for Adults
Guitar, bass, percussion, drums, piano, and voice.
Learn new rhythms, instruments and songs from places such as Africa, South America and The Caribbeans. Students will create music by learning different parts and roles. This class meets once per week. Instructor: Bam Bam Rodriguez.
Wednesday 10am-11am, 11am-12pm, 1pm-2pm, 3pm-4pm

Jose Bam Bam RodriguezJosé “Bambam” Rodríguez is a Belgian-Venezuelan Bass player and multi-instrumentalist who currently lives
in New York City, where he regularly performs.
He has toured over 10 European countries, South America, The Caribbean, Mexico
and the U.S.A., where he has played concerts for Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The
Brooklyn Museum, and festivals like Jazz a Vienne, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montauk
Music Festival, Brussels Jazz Marathon and Garana Jazz.
Bambam is also the leader of R.A.M. (Rodríguez, Aksunger, Milea), Light at Both
Ends of the Tunnel and Mulix, with which he has toured Mexico, the US and Europe.
Through his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Claudia Acuña, Celso
Duarte, Lara Bello, Luis Perdomo, Samuel Torres, Ari Hoenig, Dean Bowman,
Rogerio Boccato, Juancho Herrera, Yayo Serka, Michael Simon, Gerardo Rosales and
Pablo Reyes.
From an early age he was also part of the worldwide famous “El Sistema” movement
of youth orchestras in Venezuela, where he performed in alongside Gustavo
Dudamel.
Bambam holds two Master’s degrees in Jazz and World
Music from the prestigious conservatories of Brussels and Amsterdam.
